MontanaPBS improves broadcast uptime with Raritan KVM-over-IP and 8-screen User Stations

MontanaPBS, a Public Broadcasting Service affiliate, sought to improve flexibility and workflow as it transitioned its broadcast operations to a new software-defined automation system running on commercial off-the-shelf hardware. This shift required new tools for staff to access and manage the IT infrastructure supporting both its broadcast and business operations. To meet this challenge, MontanaPBS turned to vendor Raritan for a KVM-over-IP solution.

Raritan implemented its Dominion KX III KVM-over-IP switches and User Stations, providing uniform and reliable remote access to all servers and broadcast systems. This solution improved uptime by enabling the IT staff to perform diagnostics from anywhere, even to the BIOS level on unresponsive servers. The implementation consolidated equipment, streamlined operations, and made MontanaPBS more agile and responsive, ultimately boosting productivity for its staff.
