How Grubhub’s app protects drivers during unsafe moments and emergencies

Grubhub, the food delivery platform, wanted to improve the safety of its delivery partners and give them faster ways to get help during unsafe moments or emergencies. Working with RapidSOS, Grubhub looked for a way to connect drivers directly to 911 and provide an in-app option for reaching safety support.

Using RapidSOS’s Enterprise Emergency Verification and worker safety capabilities, Grubhub integrated a simple SOS feature into the Grubhub for Drivers app that shares key data like name, phone number, vehicle information, delivery address, and geolocation with 911 and 24/7 Safety Agents. In pilot markets including New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago, 85% of surveyed drivers said it was easy to report safety concerns, and Grubhub has since expanded the RapidSOS integration nationwide.
