RapidDeploy’s Radius Mapping brings new ways to communicate with and find callers in the City of Peoria

Peoria Police Department, a primary PSAP serving the City of Peoria, Arizona, needed better ways to communicate with wireless callers and more accurate location data for mobile 9-1-1 calls. Before working with RapidDeploy, Communications Specialists were limited to basic network location information, could not initiate text conversations with callers, and had no video capabilities, making it harder to find and help callers quickly.

With RapidDeploy Radius Mapping and Eclipse Analytics, the department gained the ability to initiate text messages, use language identification and translation, request precise coordinates through RapidLocate, and view more accurate handset location data on a tactical map. RapidDeploy helped Peoria Police improve outreach and locate callers faster, and the impact was demonstrated in a life-saving incident on December 24, 2021, when a subject’s exact location was obtained and relayed to responding agencies, enabling authorities to find him and save his life.
