RadiusPlus supports the varied agencies and vast geographies of Monterey County

Monterey County Department of Emergency Communications coordinates 9-1-1 response for 31 fire, law enforcement, and medical agencies across 3,771 square miles of rugged central California terrain. With towns that lack numbered addresses, limited access routes, and frequent incidents along beaches, mountains, forests, and agricultural areas, the county needed better location accuracy and situational awareness than its legacy CAD and ANI/ALI data could provide. RapidDeploy’s Radius Mapping was used to help solve these challenges.

RapidDeploy implemented Radius Mapping across Monterey County’s dispatch operations, giving call takers richer mapping, satellite data, and two-way SMS capabilities. The result was immediate: dispatchers reported being able to pinpoint locations within five meters of the actual incident, route the correct agency faster, and support difficult rescues and domestic violence cases more effectively. RapidDeploy’s improved mapping also helped officers narrow down exact buildings or trail locations, increasing response precision and safety.
