Collier County gets a flexible, resilient solution with Nimbus Dispatch

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office, responsible for emergency dispatch across Florida's largest county, required a more flexible and resilient Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) solution to maintain operations during disasters like hurricanes. Their legacy on-premise system lacked the scalability and portability needed for rapid deployment of mobile command units. They turned to vendor RapidDeploy and its Nimbus Dispatch platform to address this critical challenge.

RapidDeploy implemented its cloud-native Nimbus Dispatch solution, which runs on Microsoft Azure Government, enabling instant deployment of a full CAD system in the field with only an internet connection. This allowed dispatchers to operate from a mobile command unit with minimal training, while officers in the field used a companion mobile app for real-time reporting. The solution provided immediate benefits, including rapid setup of the mobile unit, improved location accuracy with custom mapping, and the ability to leverage existing investments in FirstNet devices and connectivity.
