Heartland Dental, the largest dental support organization in the U.S. with more than 1,700 dentists across 38 states, faced increasing cyber threats and strict HIPAA requirements as it moved services to Office 365, Azure, and AWS. Their legacy vulnerability tooling was too manual and error-prone to deliver the precise reporting and cloud-friendly visibility needed—especially as remote work during COVID-19 made network scans impractical.

Heartland ran a proof-of-concept with Rapid7 InsightVM, which immediately found issues the incumbent missed, and then rapidly deployed thousands of Insight Agents via SCCM across 1,000+ locations to scan 42,000 assets. The result: faster, more reliable scans, clearer dashboards and reports, owner tagging and risk scores that drive monthly scorecards and remediation, and a matured security program now preparing to add InsightAppSec for application and API scanning.
