Pioneer Telephone Cooperative is a 60+-year rural telecommunications provider serving over 150,000 subscribers with 600 employees across 27 locations. Pioneer deployed Rapid7’s Insight Agent with InsightVM and InsightIDR to automatically collect endpoint data (including devices off the corporate network), use live dashboards, threat feeds, and dynamic asset groups, and prioritize remediation. The solution gave Kliewer a complete asset inventory and risk view, streamlined remediation across teams (replacing outdated spreadsheets), supported NIST/CIS controls, enabled trending of risk reduction over time, and delivered measurable improvements including a risk score lower than the total number of assets.
