The University of Queensland, one of the world’s top 100 universities, needed a better way to manage contractor access across its large, multi-campus operation. With around 30 contractors on site daily, the university wanted to know exactly who was on site and when, while ensuring only fully qualified and compliant contractors could enter work areas. Rapid Global provided Rapid Visitor Access Systems, Rapid Induct, Rapid Contractor Management, and KeyWatcher to replace the manual paper sign-in process.

Rapid Global implemented an automated, centralized access workflow that checks contractor documentation and compliance before allowing entry. When approved contractors arrive, they sign in via Rapid Access, receive a time-limited 8-digit code to their phone, and use KeyWatcher to collect the correct site key. The result is stronger site security, reduced admin burden, and better legal protection by ensuring valid documentation is always on file; the solution is already in use at two sites with plans to expand to more campuses.
