Casey's, a large convenience store chain, sought to differentiate its product assortment and get ahead of emerging trends, moving from being a fast follower to an innovator. To achieve this, it partnered with vendor RangeMe to use its platform and co-create a selective in-person Innovation Summit designed to discover unique CPG brands that competitors did not have.
The solution implemented with RangeMe involved a refined "test and learn" approach. RangeMe helped Casey's streamline the summit process to be more selective, leading to deeper engagements with high-potential brands. Successful brands from the summits, such as Archer Meats and Bones Coffee, were onboarded and tested in hundreds of stores, with adjustments made to packaging and promotions to optimize performance. This partnership with RangeMe has successfully evolved Casey's product discovery, resulting in new, differentiated products driving store choice and allowing for strategic tests across key categories like protein and functional beverages.
