How Ramp Procurement helped NPHY simplify, save time, and improve transparency

NPHY, the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, is a nonprofit serving teenagers experiencing homelessness. The finance team was managing nearly $80K in monthly spend through a slow, paper-heavy procurement process that relied on checks, PDFs, and email, making approvals error-prone, hard to track, and difficult to align with grant reimbursement requirements. Ramp helped NPHY address this challenge with its procurement, accounts payable, accounting automation, and expense management tools.

With Ramp, NPHY centralized procurement in one system, stored invoices with each PO, set category-based approval workflows, and shifted many payments from checks to cards and ACH. Ramp reduced PO approvals by 90%, shortened month-end close by 10 days, and saved the finance team about 6 hours per month, while cutting individual PO processing time from 45–60 minutes to 25 minutes. Ramp also improved transparency, reduced fraud risk, and helped NPHY avoid hiring 1–2 additional staff members.
