A Ramco Systems Case Study
Madras Cements Limited (MCL), a Chennai-based manufacturer, struggled with fragmented wind-turbine information, poor visibility across geographically dispersed farms, complex maintenance regimes across different OEMs and ISPs, difficulty capturing generation and dispatch data, and challenges in financial consolidation when power was used internally or sold. They needed a single solution to provide up-to-date generation metrics, enrich downtime records for planning, and reduce spare-parts inventory costs.
MCL implemented Ramco EAM’s new Wind Turbine Operations module—extending their existing Ramco ERP—across three hub locations for 20 users in a three-month, six-man-month rollout. Integrated with Google Maps and accessible via iPad, the solution delivered complete visibility of assets, real-time generation data, optimized spare inventory, tools to analyze failures and downtime, improved financial consolidation, and ultimately better-maintained turbines with higher availability and faster operational decisions.
