A Ramco Systems Case Study
Airbus New Zealand, a 250‑person MRO arm of Airbus that evolved from Safe Air, supports military and civil fleets across four New Zealand sites and delivers engine, propeller and airframe maintenance. The organisation faced fragmented systems—using SAP for finance/materials and Ramco for maintenance—leading to double data entry, stability issues from missed upgrades, and the need to better support the RNZAF T-6 training program and wider MRO workflows.
Airbus NZ consolidated and expanded its Ramco deployment (cloud-hosted Ramco v5.7 then upgraded to v5.9), adding Work Execution and Fleet Operation Hubs, component/configuration control, shop and facilities management, Tech Records/Engineering Hub and specialty modules like Dent & Buckle. The changes improved maintenance visibility and aircraft availability reporting, streamlined tooling and shop workflows, reduced paper/manual tracking, enabled RNZAF access and sign-off, and positioned the site for further mobile apps and wider regional adoption.
