Shueisha, one of Japan’s largest publishing houses, faced the challenge of transforming its print magazines into interactive, cross‑platform digital editions. To digitize titles like Non‑no and bring richer multimedia experiences to readers, Shueisha partnered with Rakuten DX, using Aquafadas technology and the Aquafadas InDesign Plugin to create mobile, interactive issues.
Rakuten DX converted 11 magazine titles, enriching each issue with weblinks and videos and turning 11 separate apps into a single consolidated app using Aquafadas Next Gen technology. The solution shortened Shueisha’s publication process, enabled cross‑sell and content discovery for readers, and boosted audience engagement as digital editions helped raise the profile of featured models.
