How SurfAids' first peer-to-peer campaign raised over 7x their goal

SurfAid used Raisely’s peer-to-peer fundraising platform to help raise funds for remote surf communities during the pandemic, when economic downturns and rising poverty in Indonesia made its mission even more urgent. The organization needed a better way to engage surfers around the world and support its Make A Wave challenge, a 30-day surfing fundraiser.

With Raisely, SurfAid built a custom peer-to-peer campaign using a flexible website builder, fundraising pages, and support from Raisely’s team to ensure the campaign was functional and aligned with best practices. The results were strong: in 2021, more than 1,200 surfers from 21 countries took part, and SurfAid raised $739,000, surpassing its fundraising targets and extending its impact on remote communities.
