Yonder cuts part production time from 70+ hours to 40 with Raise3D

Yonder Deep, an undergraduate student organization at UC San Diego, faced the challenge of developing an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) for climate research with a multi-million dollar budget typical for such projects. To make their research on Arctic glacial melting more accessible and cost-effective, the team turned to Raise3D and utilized two Raise3D Pro2 printers with a Hyper FFF™ upgrade.

Raise3D provided a solution that enabled rapid in-house prototyping and the production of parts from high-performance materials. The implementation of Raise3D's technology shortened development from several weeks to a few days, with specific part production times reduced from over 70 hours to just 40 hours. This allowed for a modular design approach and the construction of full, stable parts using the printers' large build volume, which was crucial for the AUV's success in harsh environmental conditions.
