Raima’s data management systems prove more than a match for SCADA applications

Schneider Electric is embedding Raima’s RDM database management system into the next generation of its EasyXOS Operator Station used for SCADA HMI displays. Schneider’s challenge was to scale EasyXOS beyond the current number of users per database, improve database availability with redundancy, and keep the database embedded within the XOS component so the application controls lifecycle, updates and queries directly.

Raima addressed this by integrating an optimized RDM release with higher transaction rates, reduced database footprint and data replication for availability and scalability. The result is that more concurrent users can work on a single database, larger amounts of data can be stored in the same space with faster access, and user load can be spread across replicated databases for failover — Raima’s RDM handles typical 5–10 GB EasyXOS installations without becoming a bottleneck.
