DISC (Database & Intranet for Safer Communities), a unique online information-sharing platform for UK business crime reduction partnerships, needed to enhance its existing web application. The challenge for RailsCarma was to fix bugs and add new features, specifically a new crime reporting module that would allow users to formally submit incident data to police directly from the system.

RailsCarma developed and integrated a comprehensive crime reporting solution using Ruby on Rails. This new module enabled users to generate and submit official Crime Reports and optional Witness Statements as PDFs via email to police. The solution resulted in a bug-free application with a new UI, successfully automating a critical reporting workflow and enhancing the platform's utility for its extensive user base of over 25,000 participating businesses.
