Colombia National Police Increases Availability to Online Services and Key Applications with DefensePro

The Colombia National Police, the country’s largest police force overseen by the Ministry of Defense, faced repeated and damaging DDoS attacks that threatened availability of its online services and citizen-facing applications. With application vulnerabilities and daily cyber-attacks disrupting critical services, the agency needed a robust, real-time solution to protect its network and ensure continuity of public services.

After evaluating vendors, the police deployed Radware’s DefensePro, a hardware-based, behavioral real-time attack mitigation system that automatically detects and blocks threats such as pipe saturation, login page assaults, and SSL floods. The deployment increased availability for online services and about 50 citizen applications, provided real-time monitoring and reporting, and reduced costly downtime that could jeopardize public safety.
