Georgia Institute of Technology - Customer Case Study

Georgia Institute of Technology, a leading public research university with about 25,000 students, tasked QA Manager Dr. James Logan and a small team with keeping critical systems—most notably the campus-wide Research Portal and the Ellucian Banner ERP—available 24/7. With spikes like registration week and a mix of ERP, portal and homegrown applications, the university needed a way to detect and prevent performance problems before they impacted users.

Georgia Tech standardized on RadView WebLOAD to run realistic, scripted load simulations (sized using Little’s Law), perform regression analysis and measure key metrics such as login time and portlet display time. The tests showed the Research Portal handled small-to-large loads without degradation of the “All Portlets Display Time” (one login-time spike was treated as an outlier), and the university now relies on WebLOAD to keep its ERP and portals running year‑round.
