Moreno Valley Electric Utility gains OT visibility across 33 sq.mi. with Radiflow

The Moreno Valley Electric Utility (MVU), a regional electric provider in southern California, faced rising cybersecurity threats and needed to meet NERC CIP compliance regulations. To address this challenge, MVU partnered with their trusted systems integrator, iS5 Communications, who recommended the iSID Industrial Threat Detection System from vendor Radiflow to provide continuous monitoring of their operational technology (OT) networks.

The solution implemented by Radiflow consisted of a central iSID instance at MVU's headquarters and iSAP smart collectors installed at each substation to efficiently transfer and filter data. Following deployment, Radiflow provided a comprehensive cyber assessment that delivered full network visibility and a roadmap for future hardening. Since its completion, the Radiflow system has been fully operational and is providing complete drill-down visibility into all network devices to the full satisfaction of the customer.
