A Radar Case Study
Trivago, a leading travel app, needed to make its product more contextually aware to delight users and boost engagement and bookings—changing the in‑app experience at airports, sending location‑based push messages near points of interest, powering automatic hotel check‑ins, and segmenting travelers vs. at‑home users. To meet that challenge Trivago turned to Radar, using Radar’s location platform and SDK (geofences, Places, Insights, Regions) to add precise location context and tracking to the app.
Radar’s solution combined geofences and Places to detect airports and POIs, Insights to flag traveling behavior, and server/webhook integrations to trigger actions (e.g., Braze for contextual pushes, webhooks or cloud functions for automatic check‑ins, and Segment/mParticle/analytics exports for segmentation and enrichment). By integrating Radar, Trivago delivered contextual in‑app experiences and targeted notifications, enabled automated check‑in flows, and gained travel‑behavior segments and analytics—resulting in higher engagement, improved conversion and increased spend driven by more relevant, timely experiences.
