Case Study: Zipline achieves a scalable, message-driven, near-real-time money-transfer platform with Rackspace Technology

A Rackspace Technology Case Study

Preview of the Zipline Case Study

Zipline’s Message-Driven Platform Allows Users to Transfer Funds as Part of a Conversation

Zipline is a message-driven payments platform that lets people transfer money as part of a conversation (e.g., texting “$20@tom”) so transactions become social and integrated into everyday interactions. To scale beyond simple peer payments, integrate into other apps, and move quickly through development, demo, staging and production environments, Zipline needed a reliable, expert-managed infrastructure and faster deployment processes so the team could focus on product and user experience.

Zipline partnered with Rackspace DevOps Automation Service, hosted its API on Rackspace and used ObjectRocket and Mailgun for database and email, respectively. Rackspace’s managed DevOps streamlined deployments across four environments, acted as an extension of Zipline’s team, and provided the operational reliability and scalability that let Zipline accelerate development, integrate broadly, and concentrate on building conversation-first money features.
