A Rackspace Technology Case Study
The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), in partnership with Rackspace, faced the challenge of supporting increasingly complex, compute‑intensive academic and scientific research—ranging from bioinformatics to aircraft “digital twins” and energy exploration—that demanded high performance computing and lower operational overhead than traditional research infrastructures.
Rackspace delivered an OpenStack‑based private hybrid cloud that provides scalable HPC and big data capabilities for UTSA’s researchers. The solution reduced maintenance burden, accelerated simulations and data analysis, and enabled the development of digital twins and other advanced research projects, transforming how scholars leverage cloud resources.
