Spireon accelerates vehicle intelligence with managed AWS services

Spireon, a leading connected vehicle intelligence company serving nearly four million subscribers, needed to scale rapidly to handle dramatically increased real-time data from vehicles and sensors while ensuring reliable communications and integration with its existing AWS-hosted platform. Customers demanded higher data volumes, real-time location and load tracking, and dependable alerts for events like door openings or unauthorized movement.

Rackspace Technology designed and implemented a serverless IoT platform on AWS (including Lambda, IoT Core, DynamoDB and SageMaker) in four months, enabling faster data processing, simplified device provisioning and OTA updates, and remote device configuration. The move to serverless cut Spireon’s development time by more than half, supports millions of devices and tens of thousands of trailers with hundreds of thousands of images, and delivers real-time visibility and deeper insights to customers.
