Sentrics, a provider of internet and infotainment services for senior living communities, needed help quickly adding voice-control to its new Engage360 platform so residents—many isolated by COVID‑19 lockdowns and with mobility challenges—could access activities, dining, entertainment and communication hands‑free. Onica (a Rackspace Technology company) used AWS Lex and other AWS services to build and train a voice‑driven chatbot and API that connects to seniors’ TVs, delivering menus, activity schedules, TV guides and simple commands via natural language. The team met the aggressive deadline ahead of schedule, accelerated time‑to‑market, and delivered an accessible, scalable platform that immediately improved residents’ ability to engage with their communities and paved the way for continued feature development.
