Benefit Cosmetics, the San Francisco–based beauty brand founded in 1976 and sold in nearly 40 countries, needed to take its digital presence truly global by delivering a fully localized web experience in every market. Its existing datacenter and legacy technology stack could not scale to support dozens of country sites, multiple languages, and the security and performance demands of a global ecommerce footprint.

Benefit partnered with Rackspace, using Managed Public and Private Cloud services and the Hybris eCommerce platform, plus Rackspace’s Linux support and Fanatical Support for managed security (firewalls, IDS, WAF, VPN, load balancing). The Project Rosie platform enabled the rollout of ~40 country sites in 22–23 languages, delivering consistent uptime, improved performance and operational efficiency—and positioning Benefit to scale faster and add new web services.
