A Rackspace Technology Case Study
Tagboard is a cloud-based platform that aggregates, curates and displays real-time social media content by hashtag for brands, agencies and events worldwide. Founded in 2011 in Redmond, WA, the lean engineering team needed to scale reliably to handle massive, high‑velocity traffic (24/7) for major events while minimizing risk and operational overhead.
Tagboard moved to Rackspace Managed Public and Private Cloud services and ObjectRocket (MongoDB/WiredTiger and Elasticsearch) with Fanatical Support, enabling rapid deployment, real‑time alerts and performance tuning. The result: flawless handling of tens of millions of posts during global events (e.g., One Direction, Girls Generation, Coldplay), reduced staffing and scaling costs, faster issue resolution, and more time to focus on product and customer engagement.
