Istation is an eLearning platform used by millions of students and educators worldwide for reading (English and Spanish) and math. Its original on‑premise hosting could not keep up with rapid user growth, so the company needed a managed, scalable hosting solution.

Rackspace deployed a managed hosting and cloud environment—combining dedicated servers, OpenStack Public Cloud, data services, networking and security—to support Istation’s programs. The new solution scaled to millions of students and cut Istation’s cost‑per‑student to roughly one quarter of its original level.
