Case Study: IATA accelerates innovation and reduces costs with Rackspace Technology

A Rackspace Technology Case Study

Preview of the IATA Case Study

IATA pilots next-generation airline standards with DevOps and AWS

The International Air Transport Association (IATA), the trade body representing about 290 airlines and 82% of global air traffic, used the COVID‑19 downturn to accelerate an IT transformation. Faced with sharply reduced airline capacity, growing data and regulatory demands, and legacy systems that hindered agility, IATA set out to become leaner, meaner and greener while improving security, forecasting and passenger contactless processes.

Working with Rackspace Technology and AWS, IATA completed an architectural review, adopted Rackspace Service Blocks and CloudHealth for cost visibility and optimisation, and moved toward containers, serverless and DevOps automation. The changes delivered faster, safer software delivery, clearer cloud cost control, stronger governance for sensitive passenger data and a scalable foundation for contactless and data‑driven services as the industry recovers.
