How Datapipe Migrated VSCO’s Artifact Uprising to AWS

Artifact Uprising, a subsidiary of VSCO, faced challenges with its non-native hosting environment which could not scale to meet the demands of its platform serving millions of users and billions of images. Seeking a next-generation architecture, they partnered with Rackspace Technology and its DualSpark team to migrate to AWS and leverage managed service provider (MSP) hosting benefits.

Rackspace Technology's solution involved using Chef for configuration management, along with Vagrant and Packer, to seamlessly migrate Artifact Uprising's web and mobile environments to AWS. The team provided onsite coaching and established automation rules, enabling the client's DevOps team to efficiently manage their new environment. The migration successfully streamlined Artifact Uprising's entire process, allowing them to provide better service to their customers.
