A Rackspace Technology Case Study
Corporation Wiki, founded by Mike Prince, builds a searchable archive of historical corporate data and a directory of more than 90 million executives, serving over 300 million page views per month. As their traffic and data volumes grew, a single dedicated server could no longer handle the load or the large-scale data processing required to ingest, clean and connect public records and other sources.
They solved this by deploying a Rackspace hybrid cloud with RackConnect, combining clustered dedicated Microsoft SQL Servers, cloud-based Windows front ends behind an F5 Big‑IP load balancer, and Rackspace Cloud Files for images. Breaking large jobs into many parallel cloud instances let them complete imports and processing up to 100× faster, cut costs on storage, and deliver a stable, scalable environment that supports ongoing growth and product development.
