Case Study: GitLab achieves faster cloud-native development and higher availability with Rackspace Technology

A Rackspace Technology Case Study

Preview of the GitLab Case Study

GitLab accelerates cloud native developer workflows

GitLab, the largest fully remote company and a single-application DevOps platform used by 100,000+ organizations, needed to simplify DevOps integration for customers and offer a hybrid-ready, scalable hosted option with 24x7x365 support. The company faced complexity from disparate tools and sought partners to improve hosting, service and support as it transitioned its hosted GitLab.com service off Azure.

GitLab moved GitLab.com to Google Cloud (on Intel 2nd‑gen Xeon), added native Kubernetes Engine and Anthos integrations, and engaged Rackspace for managed Google Cloud services and round‑the‑clock support. The solution lowered the barrier to cloud‑native adoption, made Kubernetes deployments simple, and delivered measurable gains—better performance and security, availability rising from 99.61% to 99.95%, and faster build/modernize/deploy workflows for customers in 50 countries.
