FTI Consulting, a global business advisory firm that handles massive amounts of sensitive client data, needed an agile, secure cloud solution to replace its rapidly growing on‑premises environment. Facing the challenge of migrating more than 100 TB of data while improving security, compliance and global performance, FTI sought a single managed service provider with deep AWS expertise and a worldwide footprint.

Rackspace planned and executed the AWS migration and modernization of FTI’s SQL Server workloads—moving data to Amazon S3 and distributing databases across multiple AWS Regions (U.S., Ireland, Brazil). The effort consolidated 10 legacy SQL instances into a single AWS cluster, sped up resource provisioning, enabled scalable security and data-archiving, and improved compliance (including GDPR readiness and progress toward HITRUST), resulting in shorter sales cycles, lower latency for global users, and stronger data controls.
