Case Study: TotalTrax achieves rapid, scalable cloud deployments and improved availability with Rackspace Technology

A Rackspace Technology Case Study

Preview of the TotalTrax Case Study

Fast-growing telematics developer leverages container architecture to maximize both availability and scalability

TotalTrax is a telematics provider (founded 2011) that delivers real-time vehicle, driver and inventory tracking for manufacturing and warehouse operations. As the business grew, its legacy on‑premises, manual deployment model became a bottleneck—customer installations and updates were slow and hard to scale, prompting a move to a cloud-based, multi-tenant architecture.

Working with Rackspace (DevOps Accelerator, Fanatical Support for AWS and application specialists), TotalTrax redesigned its architecture using Docker containers (one per customer), Rundeck orchestration, AWS for container management and a CI/CD pipeline. The result: automated, repeatable deployments that cut customer onboarding from days to hours (3–4 days to 3–4 hours), enabled faster release cadence, improved reliability and scalability, and freed engineering resources to focus on product innovation while customers gained more flexible, hardware‑free operations.
