Dubset, a Brooklyn startup that lets DJs share full club-style sets as legal, searchable streams, needed a hosting solution that could scale with heavy audio traffic without incurring huge bandwidth or storage headaches. Their previous setup hit limits on backups and network storage as traffic grew beyond ~50 GB, so they needed reliable, cost-effective infrastructure for large streaming volumes.

Dubset moved its media and backups to Rackspace Cloud Files and uses Rackspace Cloud Servers with Akamai CDN, which offloaded traffic from origin servers, simplified imaging and backups via RESTful APIs, and kept costs down. The result: reliable streaming of roughly 1.5–2 TB per month, easier scaling with small server slices, friction-free backups, and 100% uptime last year, with plans to continue using Rackspace as they grow.
