Dole Europe, the European arm of Dole Food, needed to modernize IT and reduce costs by moving to the cloud—yet its HQ in Hamburg relied on a datacenter in Sweden, creating complex workflows and high operating expenses. The company chose to migrate to Microsoft Azure to simplify operations and future‑proof its infrastructure.

Bright Skies, a Rackspace Technology company, ran a Cloud Readiness Assessment, feasibility study and workshops, then migrated 100% of Dole’s VMs to Azure (80 VMs moved Oct–Dec 2017, with the remainder completed by mid‑2019), implemented a cost‑effective central firewall and now provides managed services. The move delivered lower infrastructure costs, improved productivity and scalability, and strong customer satisfaction.
