Conversant Media is an Australian digital publisher behind sites such as Lost At E Minor, My Secret Playlist and The Roar, with a small global team and over 200,000 unique visitors a month (average sessions >10 minutes). Their image-heavy sites and large Australian audience were causing sluggish load times because content was served from U.S. servers, so improving global performance and scalability became a priority.

Conversant moved from MediaTemple to the Rackspace Cloud, using Cloud Files (with Limelight CDN) and Cloud Sites and planning Cloud Servers for memcached. The CDN’s AU node and Rackspace’s easy provisioning, support and pricing sped up image delivery for Australian and global users, smoothed site performance, and gave them flexible, cost-effective hosting with room to scale and host client sites.
