Cloud technology transformed HACA’s operations and secured its mission

The Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) faced serious operational risk after a winter storm caused six days of downtime, exposing weaknesses in its on-premises infrastructure and limiting remote work. HACA needed a more resilient, secure cloud environment and turned to Rackspace Technology for help, using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 to support its government services and compliance needs.

Rackspace Technology implemented a full migration strategy, setting up a new Microsoft 365 tenant, moving more than 10 TB of critical data, and consolidating tools into one Microsoft-based platform. The result was improved business continuity, stronger cybersecurity, and better disaster recovery; Rackspace Technology also enabled the migration of 373 users and over 3.7 TB of data, helping HACA stay operational even during a later power outage.
