Charles River Development is a global investment‑management software and services provider that supports thousands of users and trillions in assets. Facing customers’ difficulty managing on‑premises enterprise platforms, Charles River set out to move its SaaS offering to virtualized, private‑cloud infrastructure to reduce complexity, cut costs and speed up provisioning as demand for its hosted services grew.

Working with Rackspace Technology, Charles River implemented a secure, VMware‑based private cloud (RPC) with end‑to‑end virtualization (vSphere, vSAN, NSX), aligned cross‑functional support teams and introduced DevOps automation for server and VM provisioning. The solution accelerated SaaS deployment, lowered total cost of ownership, improved upgrade velocity and scalability, and helped the company rapidly grow its cloud business while benefiting from responsive, ongoing support.
