Case Study: Babbly achieves HIPAA-compliant, production-ready Kubernetes in six weeks with Rackspace Technology

A Rackspace Technology Case Study

Preview of the Babbly Case Study

Babbly helps babies communicate with a HIPAAcompliant Kubernetes infrastructure

Babbly is an AI-powered platform that helps parents track and improve infants’ speech development. As a small startup with just two developers, it needed to stabilize and future‑proof its AWS Kubernetes environment to support frequent releases while meeting HIPAA compliance and improving security, scalability, monitoring and reliability.

Onica (a Rackspace Technology company) built a production-ready AWS EKS architecture in six weeks using CloudFormation, EKS, RDS, ALB/Ingress, ACM, WAF, Linkerd for intra‑cluster encryption, Bitbucket pipelines and Runway/Kustomize for IaC and CI/CD, and CloudWatch Container Insights for logging and monitoring. The implementation delivered end‑to‑end encryption and least-privilege controls, automated deployments and scaling, improved uptime and observability, HIPAA‑compliance readiness, and documentation/training so Babbly could operate the platform independently.
