OhioHealth, a large not-for-profit healthcare system based in Columbus, Ohio, was struggling with inefficient care team workflows and a long length of stay as it relied on its EHR alone for case management and discharge planning. To better identify discharge barriers, improve planning efficiency, and create more capacity for patient care, OhioHealth turned to Qventus and its Inpatient Solution.

Qventus implemented an AI-powered inpatient solution with real-time discharge planning insights, automated milestone coordination, Smart on FHIR rounding support, flow prioritization, and analytics dashboards embedded into Epic workflows. The results included 8,554 excess days saved annually, $3.32M in annualized savings, 23 beds of daily capacity created, and a 4.4% increase in discharge volume, along with an annualized increase in patient capacity of 1,700.
