M Health Fairview, an academic health system in Minnesota with 11 facilities, faced growing operational complexity after a system combination. Teams were working in siloes and relying on highly manual processes, and leadership needed better operational reliability and less complexity for care teams and patients. They partnered with Qventus, using its real-time automation platform along with inpatient and perioperative solutions.

With Qventus, M Health Fairview automated discharge planning, patient flow, and OR scheduling across the system. The results included a 0.5–1.0 day reduction in length of stay, a 5–7x increase in morning discharges, 35 beds of effective capacity created at the largest facilities, and more than 57% utilization of released OR blocks that otherwise would likely have gone unused.
