Imatra, a city and municipality in eastern Finland, wanted to increase digitization in its transaction management process, automate manual work, and improve accuracy and control in accounts payable. The municipality also aimed to simplify multiple manual and software-based processes into one solution and move toward 100% electronic invoicing, eliminating paper and PDF formats. Qvalia provided the platform used to support this effort.

Qvalia implemented a platform to digitize and automate Imatra’s full accounts payable process, including e-invoice operator services, transaction validation, deviation management, and line-item accounting. The solution brought structured data directly into Imatra’s system and automated rules tailored to the municipality’s needs. As a result, Imatra achieved a streamlined finance process with lower average handling cost per invoice, fewer errors and deviations, faster workflows, and less manual work for the finance team.
