Toshin Industry Co., Ltd. reduces product search times from 20 minutes to 2 minutes

Toshin Industry Co., Ltd., a leading hoop plating company with factories in Japan, needed a better way to track materials and stored items as inventory variety grew and storage space became tighter. Employees were spending too much time searching for items, especially when matching the correct type and lot for FIFO handling. To address this, Toshin Industry evaluated several technologies and chose Quuppa-based location technology as part of its object-finding system, SAGAS, via Ad-Sol Nissin’s u-Location Q.

Quuppa’s Locators and Bluetooth® enabled tags were installed to provide accurate, real-time cart location data that could be linked to SAGAS. The system delivered location accuracy within 600 mm, worked well in high-ceiling and dark areas, and was relatively easy to install and maintain. As a result, search time dropped from about 20 minutes to 2 minutes, and facility utilization improved because equipment could continue operating during material searches.
