Case Study: Tigros achieves faster checkout efficiency with Quuppa RTLS

A Quuppa Case Study

Preview of the Tigros Case Study

Tigros achieves maximised operational efficiencies within 18 months of RTLS implementation

Tigros, an Italian grocery retailer operating dozens of stores, needed a more objective way to manage checkout queues and customer wait times. While the company already had an internal policy to open a new checkout when lines exceeded two customers, it lacked real-time data for dynamic queue management and performance analysis. Tigros explored video sensors, but they could not reliably distinguish households, leading to noisy data.

Quuppa’s RTLS-based RetailerIN solution, implemented with tags on carts and baskets and ceiling-mounted locators, gave Tigros accurate real-time queue monitoring and in-store analytics. The system alerted staff when thresholds were exceeded and supported staffing decisions and checkout planning. According to the case study, checkout service quality improved within 12 months, maximum efficiency was reached in 18 months, and the solution also standardized checkout procedures across stores.
