NGK Ceramics, a global leader in ceramic substrates with a 500,000+ sq. ft. US plant running 24/7, faced capacity and efficiency challenges as business grew: pallets of raw materials and semi-finished goods were scattered across the shop floor, requiring at least two workers per shift just to find and move pallets, and an annual inventory once took up to a week and disrupted production. To tackle this, NGK evaluated Real‑Time Locating Systems and deployed the ThinkIN shop floor solution using Quuppa RTLS for high‑precision asset tracking.

The ThinkIN platform powered by Quuppa provided a digital twin of the plant, continuous pallet location synchronized with NGK’s MRP, configurable tracking, and fast asset search. As a result, shop‑floor efficiency rose, the pallet‑search burden and annual inventory time were sharply reduced (inventory is now kept continuously up‑to‑date), and tracking accuracy lowered the risk of forklift accidents.
