Using AI to Leapfrog Challenges in TB Elimination

Health Through Walls, a nonprofit working in Haitian prisons, faced the challenge of screening inmates for tuberculosis in a resource-constrained environment where expert interpretation and fast diagnosis were limited. They partnered with Qure.ai and used its AI-enabled solutions, qXR and qTrack, to support TB screening.

Qure.ai implemented AI-driven X-ray analysis to help identify presumptive TB cases more quickly and accurately, streamlining screening and enabling faster treatment initiation. Since 2021, 2,498 screenings were completed, 650 abnormal cases were found, and 271 were indicative of TB; 80% of presumptive cases were confirmed by GeneXpert, and all confirmed cases were treated.
