Phrapokklao Hospital’s Phrapokklao Cancer Center of Excellence, a community-based cancer centre in Thailand, faced a challenge with missed lung cancer diagnoses on chest X-rays, which were often interpreted by general practitioners. The centre wanted a better way to identify suspicious findings earlier and reduce delays in diagnosis.

To address this, Qure.ai deployed its qXR chest X-ray AI software to review prior chest X-ray images of newly diagnosed lung cancer patients. In the retrospective study, Qure.ai helped identify missed lung cancer in 14 of 77 patients (18.18%), with a mean diagnostic delay of 31.4 months and a maximum delay of 97 months, showing strong potential for earlier detection and improved outcomes.
