Texas Electric Cooperatives - Customer Case Study

Texas Electric Cooperatives, a statewide association serving 64 member co-ops with 200+ employees and multiple sites (headquarters in Austin, a datacenter in Georgetown and a manufacturing plant in Jasper), needed to modernize IT resiliency after moving to VMware. IT Director David Painter found the organization was relying on several backup and disaster-recovery tools from different vendors, which created complexity, risk of downtime and extra manual work.

The team implemented Quorum at Austin and Georgetown to consolidate backup, disaster recovery and high availability across virtual and physical systems. Quorum’s appliance and support enabled offsite replication, snapshots, fast spin-up of VMs in production and guided bare‑metal restores during outages, reducing downtime, simplifying operations and strengthening security; the organization is now expanding to Quorum cloud and reports greater confidence and “peace of mind.”
