The University of Tübingen, as part of the German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure (de.NBI), required a high-performance and secure storage solution for its petabyte-scale research cloud. They needed to seamlessly integrate with OpenStack, support diverse workloads, and provide geo-redundancy for their sensitive biomedical and genomic research data.
Quobyte implemented its Data Center File System, which delivered a unified file, block, and object storage platform. The solution provided the university with high-speed data ingest and processing, simplified multi-tenancy for secure collaboration, and automated geo-replication for disaster recovery. Quobyte's software eliminated storage silos, made capacity planning obsolete, and enabled a small team of administrators to easily manage the expanding 13 PB infrastructure, future-proofing the university's research cloud.
